IDS GRAND ARENA / DEFENSIVE SCOUTING FILE
Scouting Darth Malgus requires checking all-Sith qualifications, Sith Empire tags, multiple Grand Arena Omicrons, Doubt and Fear. This file explains the defending mechanics and offers an editable pre-battle plan; it does not name a universal winning counter.
01 / VERIFY THE FULL DEFENSE
A Malgus-led Sith Empire defense often uses Darth Revan, Bastila Shan (Fallen), Darth Malak and Sith Empire Trooper, but Malgus can be supported by other Sith or Sith Empire members. There is no single safe five to assume from his portrait. Record the exact four allies and whether every unit is Sith as well as how many have the Sith Empire tag.
Legacy of Power grants Sith Empire stat bonuses that scale with the number of Sith Empire units at battle start. Its fully upgraded GAC clause grants Malgus an additional Health, Protection and Speed boost if all allies are Sith. A Sith who is not Sith Empire may preserve one condition without supplying every Sith Empire bonus. In 3v3 only two allies can qualify, so treat 5v5 match records separately.
Before attacking, inspect relic levels, ability tiers, each active Omicron and the actual Datacron. Defending a different five or a 3v3 trio can change what qualifies. Current Battle Records are a separate source from the mechanics on this page.
02 / THE CURRENT ABILITIES
EVIDENCE 01
Sith Empire allies are immune to Turn Meter reduction and gain scaling stats from qualifying allies. The first time another ally falls below half Health, all enemies receive unresistable Fear at the end of the turn. In Grand Arena, the Omicron adds Mastery, Speed, Critical Avoidance, damage reduction and health recovery when a Sith Empire ally receives a debuff.

Dark Deception inflicts Doubt and increases the target's cooldowns. Doubt prevents buffs, bonus Turn Meter and Protection recovery. With Legacy of Power, enemies carrying Doubt lose Speed, Tenacity and Critical Damage. Plan around a real debuff on the attacking unit, not only damage totals.

Deprive Senses inflicts Blind and Shock and gives Malgus Taunt. When the target is already Shocked, the ability can Shock every enemy and Ability Block its target. Its Grand Arena Omicron makes its debuffs unresistable and can add area true damage and Turn Meter when the target was already Shocked.

Malgus has another Omicron on Korriban's Legacy. Its additional Grand Arena defensive interactions can change how the fight plays. Read that exact ability tier, not just his leader. Datacrons, ally Omicrons and current relics must be verified before selecting your offense.

03 / PRACTICAL BATTLE SCOUTING
Check the leader, all supporting units, Sith/Sith Empire tags, relics and Datacron. One swapped ally can remove an all-Sith requirement or change what cleanses and Taunts.
Inspect Legacy of Power, Deprive Senses and Korriban's Legacy separately. A battle record with one installed upgrade may not describe the team on your screen.
The GAC leader upgrade adds significant Speed and defensive stats. A raw Speed comparison that ignores start-of-battle effects or a Datacron can be misleading.
The first time another Malgus ally falls below 50% Health, Legacy of Power applies Fear to every enemy. Do not reduce several supports without planning for the resulting interruption.
Doubt prevents bonus Turn Meter and buffs, and can limit recovery. Shock also changes Deprive Senses. Check whether your proposed attack can still act when these conditions are applied.
Damage alone is insufficient if the opposing tank is still buffed, your key attacker is under Doubt, or the GAC Omicrons are restoring the defender. Recheck legal targets and cooldowns each turn.
These are conditional scouting decisions, not a claim to have replayed a battle or an automatic turn-by-turn win. Record the first triggered mechanic that differs from your plan.

Use 5v5 evidence for five-unit teams and 3v3 evidence for trios. Match the full defender and attacker, relics, ability upgrades, Datacrons and number of observed battles. The static season labels represent reviewed historical seasons, not future live win rates.
