Finish Chapter 1 on the Defender, report to the Jedi Council on Tython and follow the crashed-Jedi lead to Tatooine. Then accept the Balmorra strike-team assignment. These are two successive Council missions, not a repeat of the Chapter 1 Tatooine Shock Drum storyline.

Required previous story: Fate of the Jedi. If this mission is absent, finish that prerequisite and inspect the class journal, ship holoterminal or listed contact before attempting an unrelated planetary mission.
Find the class mission: Open the Mission Log, track Guided by the Force and check the purple objective. Do not use a yellow planetary quest as a substitute.
Reach its correct area: Tython Jedi Temple, Council chamber; objective continues to Tatooine. Check the full world map, taxi destinations and interior floor selector; the objective may be inside a separate story phase.
Complete the objective: Report after the Darth Angral confrontation, then travel to Tatooine to assist the Jedi who crashed there. Complete the active class objective and return to the Council.
Finish the handoff: Return to the Tython Council chamber and accept Lives in the Balance.
Stuck or uncertain? If the game sends you back to Tatooine, this is the new Chapter 2 Jedi rescue, not the Chapter 1 Shock Drum story.

If the next mission marker appears on another planet, return to your ship and check its holoterminal before traveling. On Hoth, choose only the confrontation granted by your story decision.
