Legends chronology places Quermia's accession to the Galactic Republic at 6900 BBY, about a century after Republic explorers documented the system. Quermians had already been active in interstellar contact within decades of the initial encounter. The planet's political membership added a formal relationship to an existing set of encounters, movements and commercial exchanges.
Anthropological interpretation
An accession date marks institutional recognition, not proof that every local settlement adopted identical customs. Quermians had their own established society and a history of imposed genetic modification by Arkanians. Those older ties and the relationship with Xexto on Troiken matter more than imagining a seamless cultural conversion upon receiving Republic membership.
