The Exiles conquer Korriban and found the later Sith Order

Ajunta Pall and the surviving Dark Jedi reach Korriban, overthrow the native Sith leadership, assume the title of Sith Lords, and create a new Sith Empire.

Later in 6900 BBY, the exiled Dark Jedi reached Korriban after Sorzus Syn guided them through the Stygian Caldera. They encountered the indigenous Sith species and its existing royal institutions. In the ensuing conquest, Ajunta Pall overthrew King Hakagram Graush and seized political power. Ajunta Pall became the first Dark Lord of the new order, while leading Exiles formed a Sith Council and transformed an older Sith civilization into the Force-using imperial tradition that would shape later galactic history.

Arrival in Sith space

Sorzus Syn had pursued legends of a distant Sith kingdom.

The Exiles found a society with established castes, rulers, sorcery, temples, and historical memory.

Conquest rather than peaceful integration

The newcomers overthrew local rulers and used their Force abilities to establish dominance.

They adopted the title Sith while placing themselves above the indigenous population.

Ajunta Pall becomes Dark Lord

Ajunta Pall emerged as the first Dark Lord of the new Sith Order.

Other leading Exiles formed the Sith Council on Ziost.

A new culture emerges from two traditions

Dark Jedi teachings mixed with indigenous Sith religion, language, alchemy, and political forms.

The later Sith tradition was therefore neither purely Jedi-derived nor simply a continuation of pre-Exile Korriban.

Anthropological assessment

The founding of the later Sith Order is a conquest and cultural-fusion event. A migrant elite seized power over an older society and then adopted parts of the culture it ruled.

That process explains why later Sith institutions carried both Jedi-derived concepts and traditions rooted in the indigenous Sith species.

Documented account

Guided by Sorzus Syn's knowledge of rumors about the Sith kingdom, the defeated Dark Jedi reached Korriban through the Stygian Caldera. Korriban already had a Sith species, sacred places, kings, and traditions. The Exiles used displays of Force power and ties to local elites to acquire access to the court. Ajunta Pall overthrew King Hakagram Graush and assumed the title of Dark Lord of the Sith.

Anthropological interpretation

The encounter was a conquest and an appropriation of an existing political identity, not the founding of a new species. Sith religious practices and material archives predated the arrivals by millennia. The Exiles expanded their authority through coercion, intermarriage, alchemy, claims to supernatural power, and the restructuring of native hierarchies. The newly constituted Sith Order should be distinguished from the earlier Sith society that it ruled.

Dates, continuity and historical caution

Dathka Graush died around 6950 BBY. He was not the king killed by Ajunta Pall in 6900 BBY; the later Book of Sith account uses Hakagram Graush to resolve the historical conflict. Characterizing the indigenous Sith as possessing no political or intellectual culture would misrepresent the pre-Exile records.

Test the evidence: Did the Exiles create the Sith people in 6900 BBY?

Correction and insight: No. They conquered an established Sith society and reorganized its power under a new dark-side ruling order.
