Summary
The Inquisitorius was an Imperial organization of Force-sensitive hunters tasked with finding surviving Jedi, identifying emerging Force users, and destroying networks that could challenge Imperial authority.
02 · Organization
Structure and membership
The organization operated under Darth Vader with the Grand Inquisitor coordinating subordinate Inquisitors. It relied on Imperial intelligence, detention sites, military transport, interrogation systems, and information gathered from occupied populations.
03 · Ideas
Ideology and legitimacy
The Inquisitorius converted Force sensitivity into an instrument of state security. Its members were expected to sever earlier loyalties and direct their abilities toward the survival of the Imperial regime.
04 · Practice
Methods and power
Inquisitors used investigation, informants, surveillance, intimidation, kidnapping, interrogation, traps, and direct combat. Their work often targeted not only Jedi but communities suspected of sheltering them.
05 · Change over time
Historical development
The Inquisitorius became especially active in the years after Order 66, when surviving Jedi and Force-sensitive children represented unresolved threats to Imperial control. By the later Imperial period its visible role had diminished as the surviving Jedi population fell.
