The world appears ancient, dry, and sparsely populated, with monumental ruins, fortress architecture, open plains, and the remains of enormous purrgil. Its position at the end of an intergalactic migration route gives the landscape a sense of both arrival and death.

Peridea contains multiple small communities rather than a unified modern state. The Great Mothers preserve Nightsister traditions, the Noti travel in mobile communities, and bandits occupy other parts of the landscape. Exile and mobility are recurring features of life there.

Peridea is an ancestral and ritual landscape for the Great Mothers and is tied to ancient Dathomiri migration. Ruins, graves, purrgil remains, exile, and Nightsister practice make the world a place where ancestry, death, travel, and sacred memory converge.

Politics and power
The Great Mothers possess ritual authority and knowledge that allows them to cooperate with Thrawn. Thrawn, meanwhile, maintains military command over stranded Imperial personnel. Power on Peridea is therefore fragmented between religious specialists, armed groups, and local communities.
06 · Change over time
Historical significance
Ancient records connect Peridea to Dathomiri ancestors and purrgil migration. Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn were carried there by purrgil after the liberation of Lothal. Years later, Ahsoka Tano and her allies reached the far galaxy, reopening routes between Peridea and the main galaxy.
