Aric Jorgan enters the Trooper storyline as an experienced Republic military professional. His service and sometimes severe approach to discipline help reveal what soldiers regard as legitimate command when special operations units fracture under pressure.

Background and family history
Jorgan comes from a Cathar family with a tradition of Republic military service. Training, battlefield experience and membership in an elite sniper unit shaped his professional identity before the player meets him. The original Holonet describes an officer respected for his marksmanship and record, while also emphasizing that his demanding standards make social relationships difficult. Those details distinguish professional competence from likeability.

Role in the Origin Story
On Ord Mantell, the revelation that senior members of Havoc Squad have defected throws Jorgan's professional world into a crisis of trust. The new Trooper becomes the center of a rebuilt unit and Jorgan must negotiate authority within a reorganized military hierarchy. His subsequent relationship to that commander is an opportunity to see rank and competence become less straightforward than formal charts suggest.

Gameplay after joining the crew
Jorgan is linked to the early Republic Trooper story and Havoc Squad. Original Holonet equipment and crafting entries describe a much earlier system. Current combat performance depends on the game's later companion-role design and progression, not the old 'Aim' or weapon bonuses.

Background and cultural interpretation
Military institutions teach members to interpret orders, casualties and competence through professional norms. Jorgan's stern discipline can create protection through readiness, yet discipline alone cannot resolve whether a superior's objectives deserve obedience. His status as a Cathar also prevents the Republic military from being described as a species-neutral abstraction without asking who rises through its ranks and how belonging is represented.
