01 · Companion research

Background and family history

Vette was separated from her family and enslaved as a child, then passed through several owners. After Nok Drayen destroyed one enslaver's holdings, she joined his pirate crew by choice. Her later work on Nar Shaddaa involved stealing from exploiters of Twi'lek people and cultural objects. That activity supplies a political context often lost when she is discussed only as a witty companion in Sith dialogue scenes.

02 · Companion research

Role in the Origin Story

The Sith Warrior encounters Vette on Korriban and takes her into a system in which legal and personal authority are concentrated in the hands of Sith elites. The shock collar in her early story is not a harmless accessory: it visibly marks unequal power. How the player responds to Vette, and the treatment offered in companion dialogue, reveal the moral possibilities and restrictions within an imperial institution structured around coercion.

03 · Companion research

Gameplay after joining the crew

Vette joins the Sith Warrior very early. In the original game, affection, gifts and combat statistics were tied to systems that have since changed. Avoid treating historical Holonet gift charts as a current influence optimization guide. Relationship and romance paths can vary with the player's dialogue and later story decisions.

04 · Companion research

Background and cultural interpretation

Vette makes material culture central to political analysis. A collar is a manufactured object that enforces and displays another person's claim over a body. Her history of protecting Twi'lek cultural artifacts also shows that economic predation can include the appropriation of objects and histories, not simply theft of credits. Resistance here appears through humor, alliances and practical survival, not only battlefield combat.
