How to jump into this adventure
Where to pick up the story
Play the Forged Alliances prelude before going to Rishi. The official story uses a chain of Flashpoints linked to Tython, Korriban, Manaan and Rakata Prime. Follow their solo-story versions when presented by the story mission, rather than entering a separate group activity at random.
The main campaign route
After the prelude, Shadow of Revan's major locations are Rishi and Yavin 4. This arc introduces shared characters and alliances that continue to matter in subsequent expansions. Blood Hunt and Battle of Rishi are story-era Flashpoints, while optional Operations are not identical to the critical solo storyline.
Useful before you play
Ideal if you want an adventure built around Revan and the growing role of Lana Beniko and Theron Shan. The original class campaign and Makeb provide context but are not the same episode. Use your mission tracker for the exact current entrance and Flashpoint mode.
For the exact next mission on your character, open the Eras Window introduced in Game Update 7.7. Official Eras Window and Mission Log details · Official expansion information. Current UI, availability, and chapter requirements can differ from the original expansion launches.

Play this expansion in order
Before you begin
Play Forged Alliances first. Its narrative Flashpoints include the assaults on Tython and Korriban, Depths of Manaan, and Legacy of the Rakata. Exact first Flashpoint ordering and mission titles depend on faction.
- Rishi
Continue the purple Shadow of Revan campaign on Rishi. Blood Hunt and Battle of Rishi occur within this story period.
- Yavin 4
Finish the Yavin 4 story missions and the expansion's confrontation. The optional Temple of Sacrifice Operation is not the only way to experience the story conclusion.
What comes after
Play Ziost's story after Yavin 4, before Knights of the Fallen Empire. Skipping Ziost removes important context for the Emperor-related events.
What is optional, not part of the required storyline?
Group Operations and daily-area activities are additional content. Choose the story mission's solo-friendly routes when available, rather than queuing into an unrelated Flashpoint mode.
Story order checked against the 2026 solo story guide and publisher story and update information. Check the Eras Window for the next mission on your character.
The Shadow of Revan story introduces a conspiracy whose members span both factions. Lana Beniko and Theron Shan investigate a movement that uses the memory of Revan to justify a catastrophic plan involving the Sith Emperor.
01 · Expansion analysis
Historical starting point
After the Makeb crisis, new signs suggest that prominent Republic and Imperial actors may be operating for a common clandestine organization. The investigation initially seems implausible precisely because the governments consider one another irreconcilable enemies. Lana and Theron each occupy intelligence roles that make them suspicious of the institutions they serve.
02 · Expansion analysis
Campaign story and faction perspectives
The pursuit leads through Rishi and Yavin 4 as the Revanites attempt to force Vitiate into a form they believe can be destroyed. Their method relies on fomenting large-scale conflict rather than creating peace. The protagonists form an unusual coalition to stop them, only to discover that the attempted destruction of the Emperor has helped create the conditions for his further influence.

How to play and how rules changed
Shadow of Revan is experienced as a continuing story after Makeb and transitional flashpoint material. Rishi and Yavin 4 provide contrasting spaces for infiltration, coalition and confrontation. The release order helps new players follow Lana and Theron's relationship, though present-day mission access may reflect expansions or account entitlements.
04 · Expansion analysis
What the expansion adds to Legends society
The expansion shows the dangers of mistaking a revered name for an uncontested political program. Revan has already accumulated multiple, sometimes contradictory meanings within Legends. A movement claiming to fulfill his legacy can recruit across old faction boundaries without being accountable to every group whose history it invokes.
05 · Expansion analysis
Anthropological assessment
The Revanite conspiracy is useful for analyzing charismatic legitimacy. The authority of an absent or mythologized figure can be mobilized by contemporary leaders to justify extraordinary action. A cross-faction movement is not necessarily democratic: its coalition can conceal highly centralized control.
