Xalek enters as an apprentice late in the Inquisitor's campaign, not on Korriban at character creation.

Not showing in your crew? Continue the purple Sith Inquisitor class missions and open Companions & Contacts (default N). The original story recruitment is different from later Alliance reunions, some of which depend on expansion decisions. If you are already in a later expansion, see the current companion-availability guidance below.

01 · Companion research

Background and family history

Xalek is a Kaleesh acolyte recruited into the Sith training system, where advancement is determined through difficult and frequently violent tests. The official Holonet emphasizes his harsh upbringing and the strategic resolve that accompanies his desire to become a Sith. He does not belong automatically to the Empire's human and Sith aristocratic elite, making his progress through the academy a striking example of access to power under unequal conditions.

Role in the Origin Story

The Sith Inquisitor meets Xalek during later class events when the protagonist is positioned to accept an apprentice. The appointment can seem to reproduce the very hierarchy that once disadvantaged the Inquisitor: a successful challenger must now decide what sort of superior to become. Xalek's fighting ability and zeal do not erase the fact that training determines which people are recognized and which are discarded.

03 · Companion research

Gameplay after joining the crew

Xalek is associated with the original Sith Inquisitor Origin Story, not an interchangeable companion unlocked identically for every class. To experience the original recruitment context, follow the relevant class missions and companion conversations before later shared expansions. Romance dialogue, alignment-dependent scenes and subsequent Alliance status must be verified in that playthrough. The publisher's archived stat lists and crafting bonuses describe early SWTOR systems and should not be offered as current combat or gift recommendations.

04 · Companion research

Background and cultural interpretation

Xalek's story links educational institutions to the production of power. In systems where tests can be fatal, apparent success may reflect survival of coercive conditions rather than a fair measure of talent. The Sith academy also imposes a politically useful identity over existing cultural background. Becoming a Sith does not mean every Kaleesh tradition disappears, and describing his ferocity as an attribute of his species would substitute stereotype for evidence.
