Dread Fortress (Oricon): Imperial Operation Walkthrough

Dread Fortress on Oricon includes Nefra, nine-wave Gate Commander Draxus, Grob'thok, Corruptor Zero and Dread Master Brontes. The post-Nefra gatehouse is a distinct Veteran puzzle, and Brontes requires clockwise movement and finger assignments.

How to get to the Imperial Operation entrance

IMPERIAL FLEET D5-F2 → ORICON IMPERIAL CAMP → DREAD FORTRESS SPEEDER/QUICK TRAVEL → DREAD FORTRESS ENTRANCE → NEFRA.

Available modes: Story, Veteran and Master difficulties. Start with Story. Veteran requires gatehouse coordination and harder final mechanics; Master Brontes is advanced progression.

  1. 01

    Unlock the Oricon storyline

Imperial Fleet droid D5-F2 offers the Oricon Dread War introduction. This is the IMPERIAL contact, not Republic O6-D5.

  2. 02

    Travel to Oricon camp

Use galaxy travel/priority transport as unlocked. At the Imperial camp follow the Oricon story or available route to DREAD FORTRESS on the local map.

  3. 03

    Locate correct portal

Use Oricon speeder/quick travel toward DREAD FORTRESS if unlocked. DREAD PALACE is a separate entrance and not the target of this guide.

  4. 04

    Choose Story or Veteran

Set up an eight-player Operations group and verify mode. Explain the optional-in-Story but required-in-Veteran GATEHOUSE CRYSTAL puzzle before pulling.

  5. 05

    Advance to Nefra

Inside the first courtyard, approach NEFRA by the stone steps; tanks prepare their green circle overlap.

ENCOUNTER 01 / 05 · FORTRESS FIRST HALL

Nefra

How you reach this boss: From the entrance, stop at the boss by the steps so tanks can set up DOUBLE STRIKE.

  1. 01

    Two tanks stack green circles

The two players highest on aggro stand side-by-side in the GREEN DOUBLE STRIKE circles, sharing damage.

  2. 02

    Face Nefra away

Main tank turns boss toward steps; all others fight BEHIND the boss out of front cleave.

  3. 03

    Lure exploding droid away

OVERLOADED ASSAULT DROID chases a player and shows a large RED circle. A ranged player moves that explosion away from the stack.

  4. 04

    Avoid explosion

Leave the red marker if it lands near your feet; reposition before it detonates.

  5. 05

    Handle Voice of Masters

Healers cleanse or heal through the green VOICE OF THE MASTERS DoT per group plan.

  6. 06

    Check gatehouse next

When Nefra dies, follow the fortress passage. In Veteran/Master a crystal puzzle may prevent Draxus from appearing until solved.

Story Mode: Story: keep green circles together and droid's red AoE elsewhere.

Veteran Mode: Veteran: coordinate cleanses and solve crystal gatehouse after the fight.

Stuck here? Draxus not visible? Nefra did not unlock the entire courtyard; in Veteran complete the GATEHOUSE PUZZLE.

ENCOUNTER 02 / 05 · NINE-WAVE COURTYARD

Gate Commander Draxus

How you reach this boss: After Nefra, pass the GATEHOUSE and assemble at LEFT/RIGHT STAIRS around Draxus arena.

  1. 01

    Solve Veteran crystal relay

At the gatehouse in Veteran send FOUR players through the left route. Others CHANNEL CRYSTALS to open the first barrier; relay channelers at successive crystals until four reach FINAL UNLOCK. Do not leave every channeler behind.

  2. 02

    Split left and right

Divide the raid into two four-player groups around left/right stairs. Tanks face DRAXUS away when he drops down.

  3. 03

    Corruptors are priority

Interrupt MASS AFFLICTION from CORRUPTORS before they apply their group DoT. Dispatchers and Subteroths are lower-priority adds.

  4. 04

    Handle DISMANTLERS

STRONG SWIPE knocks back and applies DISMANTLED; tanks taunt the Dismantler after the knockback before it executes OBLITERATE on the vulnerable player.

  5. 05

    Stop DESPOILER heals

Interrupt, crowd-control or kill DESPOILER when it tries DARK INFUSION on other adds.

  6. 06

Leave one add alive for boss

When Draxus returns in waves 3 and 5, leave one DISPATCHER alive until he leaps away after taking damage. Otherwise the next wave spawns while Draxus is still present.

  7. 07

    Kill wave nine

Final wave includes Draxus, guardians, Corruptor and Dispatchers. Kill Corruptor first, then Draxus and remaining enemies.

Story Mode: Story: add priority; deliberately delay final minor add in Draxus phases.

Veteran Mode: Veteran: required crystal gatehouse, deadlier add casts, tighter tank mechanics.

Stuck here? Nine waves overlap and wipe? Stop killing the last add while Draxus is still down. Push him out first, then finish the held add.

Next encounter: Grob'thok →

ENCOUNTER 03 / 05 · MAGNET FORGE CHAMBER

Grob'thok

How you reach this boss: From Draxus follow corridor into the forge with moving CEILING MAGNET.

  1. 01

    Tank under magnet path

Watch moving magnet along outer edge. The tank plans a route that will put GROBT'HOK directly beneath its sweep.

  2. 02

    Break PIPE SMASH

During PIPE SMASH, drag boss UNDER CEILING MAGNET so the pipe breaks and the cast is interrupted.

  3. 03

    Keep players out of magnet

Magnet STUNS players too; position boss without leaving DPS and healers beneath it.

  4. 04

    Drop fire at arena edge

The player marked by MINING DROID moves while laying FIRE PUDDLES, away from the rest of the group.

  5. 05

    Burn Ugnaught adds

Tank collects DREADFUL UGNAUGHTS and positions them through fire where useful; boss faces ROAR away from group.

  6. 06

    Use open exit

After Grob'thok falls, follow next corridor to the CROSS-SHAPED CORRUPTOR ZERO ROOM.

Story Mode: Story: magnet is the solution to pipe smash; fire is a movement mechanic.

Veteran Mode: Veteran: higher damage and more dangerous magnet timing and overhead damage.

Stuck here? PIPE SMASH stays active? You must physically lead the boss UNDER THE MOVING MAGNET.

Next encounter: Corruptor Zero →

ENCOUNTER 04 / 05 · CROSS-SHAPED ROOM

Corruptor Zero

How you reach this boss: After Grob'thok enter the chamber with four long arms and side WALL ALCOVES.

  1. 01

    Group adds at corner

Tank boss near a corner so arriving repair droids approach in one pile.

  2. 02

    Kill D-03 REPAIR DROIDS

The floating D-03s HEAL other droids. Kill these before other adds.

  3. 03

    Interrupt CHAMPION DROID

D-13/D-15 Corruption Droids cast ELECTRIC BURST with a stunning RED AOE; interrupt them.

  4. 04

    Manage melee/ranged switches

Boss alternates Heavy Slash and Chest Laser or Missile Barrage; tanks face attacks away and others spread from marked circles.

  5. 05

    Hide from UNIFIED BEAM

At roughly 20-25% boss jumps between the ends of the cross and sweeps a giant RED LASER. He is IMMUNE: hide in SIDE ALCOVES, don't chase.

  6. 06

    Return after beam

When the sequence ends boss is vulnerable again without new add waves; burn then head to Brontes.

Story Mode: Story: kill Repair Droids and find cover during Unified Beam.

Veteran Mode: Veteran: beams are dangerous, side alcove positioning essential.

Stuck here? Immune at 20%? This is the UNIFIED BEAM animation, not missing damage; protect yourself in a recess.

ENCOUNTER 05 / 05 · FINAL FINGERS AND CLOCK ARENA

Dread Master Brontes

How you reach this boss: From Corruptor Zero continue into last Dread Master's room, beginning with LEFT and RIGHT HANDS.

  1. 01

    Two tanks take HANDS

Face large HANDS' frontal cone AWAY from group; DPS quickly kill smaller FINGERS.

  2. 02

    Move away from Reach pairs

After the Hands disappear, linked REACH OF BRONTES pairs spawn under players. Stay grouped and MOVE TOGETHER away from lethal connecting LIGHTNING LINES.

  3. 03

    Fight Brontes and Kephess clones

Tank BRONTES away from group during ARCING ASSAULT. Kill CORRUPTED KEPHESS CLONES, interrupt charge and cleanse green NANITES.

  4. 04

    Solve CLOCKWISE LIGHTNING

At around 50% she is IMMUNE and a LIGHTNING BEAM rotates CLOCKWISE. Kill SIX D-09 DROIDS clockwise AHEAD OF THE BEAM and never cut across it.

  5. 05

Assign one player to each FINGER

When SIX FINGERS spawn, assign one non-tank player per finger INCLUDING HEALERS. Stay in melee range so each does not ENRAGE. DPS kill theirs then help the healer-assigned targets.

  6. 06

    Tanks handle big hands again

Tanks point HAND SLAMS away and other players avoid PURPLE SPIKE OF PAIN circles while finishing fingers and hands.

  7. 07

    Final wall burn

When BRONTES returns, hold raid near a wall against FIRE AND FORGET knockback and survive rising MANIFEST SUPREMACY damage.

  8. 08

    Confirm Dread Fortress clear

Only BRONTES'S final death completes the Operation; check the weekly before leaving.

Story Mode: Story: Hands/Fingers, paired lightning lines, Kephess clones, clockwise clock, final burn.

Veteran Mode: Veteran: tighter tank swaps, energy spheres and finger assignments; practice first in Story.

Stuck here? Clock explosions? SIX D-09s die clockwise BEFORE BEAM CONTACT. Finger enrages? Every healer and DPS needs one finger in melee range.

Common raid problems and how players solved them

Player reports are not guaranteed fixes for every game version. These answers link to their source so readers can check the original context.

Draxus won't spawn in Veteran. What is the puzzle?

After Nefra, the GATEHOUSE CRYSTAL RELAY has to unlock the next door. Four channel at the first gate while the others advance, and channel responsibility moves at each crystal.

Original discussion or mechanic reference ↗

Can all four channelers use the same crystal?

According to a June 2024 Reddit answer, FOUR can channel the same crystal at certain steps. Work through subsequent gate crystals until FOUR reach the end and unlock the path; group assignments matter more than damage.

Original discussion or mechanic reference ↗

Draxus keeps spawning overlapping waves. Why?

If all adds die while DRAXUS is in the room, another wave begins. Leave ONE dispatcher alive until Draxus takes enough damage to jump away.

Original discussion or mechanic reference ↗

Are Master Mode Brontes wings easy?

No. A 2024 Reddit community conversation describes this cosmetic as a progression goal; clear Story and learn Veteran before treating Master loot as a farm.
