OPERATION WALKTHROUGH / RISHI · FIVE BOSSES · STORY / VETERAN

The Ravagers: Rishi Imperial Operation Walkthrough

Start this pirate Operation from Rishi's Slums District, not the Revanite Battle of Rishi Flashpoint. Follow the dockside route, several ship decks, the four-boss progression, then the escape pod into Ruugar's finale. Includes a documented repair-droid puzzle, Master & Blaster positioning and the intermittent pet-related transition bug.

01 · FIND THE INSTANCE

How to get to the Imperial Operation entrance

RISHI → RAIDER'S COVE / SLUMS DISTRICT → THE RAVAGERS OPERATIONS ENTRANCE → RUUGAR'S REVENGE QUEST BOX → Sparky.

Available modes: Story and Veteran; organized eight-player Operation group and subscriber access. Later higher modes can depend on game version. NOT the purple Battle of Rishi Flashpoint.

  1. 01

Travel to RISHI, not the Fleet Manaan hallway

Use your FURY GALAXY MAP or unlocked story transport to RISHI. The Operation is separate from the BATTLE OF RISHI Flashpoint in Shadow of Revan.

  2. 02

Go to RAIDER'S COVE SLUMS DISTRICT

From the Raider's Cove landing area look for the zone named SLUMS DISTRICT on the Rishi local map; the Operation entrance is in its MIDDLE AREA, not the Revanite bunker across the island.

  3. 03

Inspect the quest BOX beside the entrance

A player documents a clickable BOX IMMEDIATELY NEXT TO THE RAVAGERS DOOR; it grants RUUGAR'S REVENGE and the RAVAGERS codex. Take the quest if desired, then use the instance portal with your group.

  4. 04

    Form the correct Operation group

Choose a subscribed eight-player group on STORY MODE for the first run; Vengeance Juggernaut is a damage dealer. DO NOT enter an unrelated solo Story Flashpoint.

  5. 05

Follow the pirate docks to Sparky

Inside the instance, follow the marked pirate entry through the first dock to SPARKY'S arena; the route later uses the SOARING DUROS and PEARL'S GIRL ship decks.

ENCOUNTER 01 / 05 · RISHI PIRATE DOCKS · FIRST ARENA

Sparky

How you reach this boss: Enter the dockside arena from the Ravagers portal. SPARKY is the first boss; position the tank before anyone pulls.

  1. 01

    Keep Sparky near a wall

SPARKY tosses the tank with SHOULDER THROW and BODY SLAM. Tank positioning near a wall reduces the distance the boss bounces around the room.

  2. 02

    Break the Shield Collar

The boss begins with SHIELD COLLAR protection. Focus correctly until it breaks rather than assuming the boss is permanently immune.

  3. 03

    Interrupt the dangerous BRUTALIZE

SPARKY pins and attacks the tank with BRUTALIZE. Damage players switch to break this channel as the raid leader directs.

  4. 04

    Gather the pirates / adds

Adds periodically approach. Off-tank gathers them; DPS clear dangerous packs while keeping the main boss stable.

  5. 05

    Expect RAMPAGE leaps

During RAMPAGE the boss leaps among party members. Stay together enough that players can be healed, but move from visible personal AoE indicators.

  6. 06

    Final low-health burn

As the boss enters its final low-health phase, adds spawn more quickly. Many Story groups switch fully to SPARKY to finish before overwhelmed.

  7. 07

    Move on to QUARTERMASTER BULO

Once Sparky dies, proceed through the pirate dock route toward the next named loading area and QUARTERMASTER BULO.

Story Mode: Story: tank against a stable wall, clear adds, and damage through Brutalize.

Veteran Mode: Veteran: tank throws and adding waves require deliberate positioning; don't drag the boss across the arena.

Stuck here? Why does Sparky keep leaping away from melee? Shoulder Throw and Body Slam are knocking the tank around. Set the tank near a WALL to keep the boss position predictable.

Next encounter: Quartermaster Bulo →

ENCOUNTER 02 / 05 · DOCKSIDE LOADING / CRATE AREA

Quartermaster Bulo

How you reach this boss: Follow the path after Sparky to the LOADING DOCK where QUARTERMASTER BULO stands; position the group with the docks to their rear and clear sightlines.

  1. 01

    Both tanks face Bulo AWAY

BULO'S SCATTER BLASTER targets the two highest-threat players with lethal cones. Both tanks should stand separately while facing away from the raid.

  2. 02

Never get into top threat as DPS

A Vengeance Juggernaut uses a THREAT DROP and stays behind Bulo. If a DPS rises into the top threat list, Scatter Blaster can suddenly cleave the whole raid.

  3. 03

Drop BURST VOLLEY along the WALL

A BLUE/PURPLE CIRCLE follows a selected ranged player. Take it toward the BACK WALL and leave the patch AFTER it stops following. Never deposit it near the tanks.

  4. 04

    Kite MASS BARRAGE cleanly

Small blue circles follow players in sequence. Walk a predictable short path to lay circles without overlapping the whole group or sealing off its escape.

  5. 05

    Spread from Load Lifters

LOAD LIFTERS chase a target and explode. Keep the group spaced enough to avoid shared explosions.

  6. 06

    Control adds when needed

Enemy adds enter from the doors near the target's position. Assign a tank or damage player to gather them rather than leaving healers under pressure.

  7. 07

    Leave through next ship route

After Bulo, follow the ship access toward CHIEF ENGINEER TORQUE and its four computer consoles.

Story Mode: Story: safe Burst Volley placement and tank cone control prevent most avoidable deaths.

Veteran Mode: Veteran: SCATTER BLASTER and clustered MASS BARRAGE become unforgiving; maintain top-two tank threat and coordinated add control.

Stuck here? Raid is wiped by one huge shotgun? A non-tank may have become Bulo's second threat target. Two tanks keep aggro and do not aim SCATTER BLASTER into DPS or healers.

Next encounter: Chief Engineer Torque →

ENCOUNTER 03 / 05 · SOARING DUROS SHIP · COMPUTER CONTROL ROOM

Chief Engineer Torque

How you reach this boss: After Bulo, progress through the Soaring Duros ship corridors to TORQUE'S CONTROL ROOM; identify FOUR CONSOLES and the REPAIR BUTTONS along the back before pulling.

  1. 01

    Understand the FOUR COMPUTER CONSOLES

TORQUE repeatedly destroys consoles with WOOKIEE RAGE. This is not just a hit-point fight; the raid can lose if all essential consoles are destroyed.

  2. 02

    Locate BACK-ROOM REPAIR PANELS

During the encounter a designated raider CLICKS A PANEL AT THE BACK to spawn a friendly FIX-IT DROID. Watch for the repair droid moving toward the damaged console.

  3. 03

    Do NOT kill FIX-IT DROIDS

Fix-It Droids are YELLOW/NEUTRAL but TARGETABLE and fragile. Avoid accidental cleave, targeted attacks and unnecessary AoE near them.

  4. 04

    Kill SHOOTS LASERS droids

SHOOTS LASERS enemies target repair droids. DPS must destroy them or intercept their attack while the Fix-It Droid reaches the terminal.

  5. 05

    Kill INCENDIARY FIRE DEVICES

Burn fire devices appearing near Torque and move from their ground circles; they can kill the repair droids and anyone nearby.

  6. 06

    Break stun and evade fires

Personal red/fire circles and stuns overlap. Use a stun break or cleanse if caught; do not stand in a stationary device's flame while waiting for repairs.

  7. 07

    Finish before all consoles fall

Coordinate repairs only as necessary. Higher-output Story groups may finish before all four consoles are lost, but slower groups should proactively repair.

  8. 08

    Find MASTER & BLASTER deck

From the control room follow the ship route to the next broad deck for MASTER & BLASTER; pause for bomb-position assignments.

Story Mode: Story: most groups repair one or two consoles; keep neutral repair droids alive and clear Shoots Lasers.

Veteran Mode: Veteran: repair-device timing and fire damage are tougher; assigns a player to click the back consoles and another to peel adds.

Stuck here? Our Fix-It Droid died immediately? Friendly YELLOW repair droids can be hit by player damage or Shoots Lasers. Stop area attacks and kill enemy laser droids before the robot reaches the console.

Next encounter: Master & Blaster →

ENCOUNTER 04 / 05 · WEATHER DECK · TWO-DROID PLATFORM

Master & Blaster

How you reach this boss: Leave Torque's console room and reach the exposed WEATHER DECK. This is the raid's hardest frequent Story Mode blocker; assign tank-facing and spread positions.

  1. 01

    P1: BLASTER only

Initially DPS BLASTER until it reaches about 54%. Tank faces its ULTRA SCATTERBLAST knockback toward an empty side of the platform; others stay behind.

  2. 02

    BLUE PROBES never touch

RESONANT EXPLOSIVE PROBES appear as blue circles on players. Spread out: touching another probe can trigger an early chain explosion.

  3. 03

    ORANGE THERMITE circles

THERMITE ROCKET MORTAR creates expanding ORANGE danger circles. Move out before the circles grow and stop standing under the next player.

  4. 04

    P2: MASTER drops down

When MASTER enters, the second tank collects it. Melee can focus BLASTER while ranged attack MASTER if needed to avoid Fire Wheel.

  5. 05

    Handle the FIRE WHEEL

Master chases its tank with FIRE WHEEL. Tank moves the spinning flame path away from clustered raiders; the rest dodge its track.

  6. 06

    Survive OVERPOWERED ION CUTTER

MASTER channels an increasingly strong ION CUTTER beam and stacks debuffs on the tank. Plan healer defenses, cooldowns and where appropriate team support to prevent too many stacks on one character.

  7. 07

    Move from RAIN OF PAIN

A portion of the deck turns RED during RAIN OF PAIN. Leave the red geometry while tanks maintain control of the active bosses and probe circles.

  8. 08

    P3: MASTER first, then BLASTER

During final soft-enrage phase, destroy MASTER down to its terminal threshold and then BLASTER. Avoid ION PULSE WAVE and the accumulating orange bombardment.

  9. 09

    Final big RED circle

When BLASTER reaches its last sliver, a LARGE RED CIRCLE appears and knocks players back. Move toward a WALL/SAFE EDGE, not into open space, to survive the closing explosion.

  10. 10

    Advance to CORATANNI and PEARL

After the two-droid fight, cross the next ship route to the CORATANNI encounter; the final encounter has a SECOND LOCATION reached by escape pod.

Story Mode: Story: probe separation, Fire Wheel kiting, Ion Cutter support and safe final knockback are mandatory coordination.

Veteran Mode: Veteran: the Ion Cutter stacks, blue probes and phase-two tank/heal load are significantly less forgiving; confirm a specific beam-defense plan before pulling.

Stuck here? Everyone dies as soon as the two blue probes overlap? Those are RESONANT EXPLOSIVE PROBES, not safe stack markers. Separate blue-circle players; coordinate Master Ion Cutter cooldowns.

Next encounter: Pirate Captains: Coratanni, Pearl and Ruugar →

ENCOUNTER 05 / 05 · PEARL'S GIRL SHIP → ESCAPE POD → RUUGAR

Pirate Captains: Coratanni, Pearl and Ruugar

How you reach this boss: After Master & Blaster reach the PEARL'S GIRL weather deck; prepare the pet/escape-pod transition and assign a cleanse-panel user.

  1. 01

    Dismiss NON-COMBAT PETS before pull

Player reports describe an intermittent bug where a summoned pet or vendor NPC can RESET the encounter when using the escape pod. Have everyone dismiss companions/pets/vending summons before starting as a precaution.

  2. 02

    Phase 1: CORATANNI and PEARL

Attack CORATANNI and PEARL together but plan the kill order. The source guide recommends damaging Pearl low, then KILLING CORATANNI FIRST, finishing enraged Pearl afterward.

  3. 03

    Do NOT kill PEARL first

Killing Pearl while Coratanni is still active can make Coratanni invulnerable. A quick high-DPS mistake can leave the group unable to finish the first phase.

  4. 04

Cleanse fire at the BLUE suppression circles

Coratanni places a FIRE DEBUFF on the raid. A designated player CLICKS THE FIRE SUPPRESSION PANEL and affected players step into the BLUE SPRAY CIRCLES to cleanse.

  5. 05

    Avoid deck gun danger zones

YELLOW TELEGRAPH zones signal gunfire/knockback, while Pearl's frontal damage and stuns threaten players near its face. Tanks turn both away.

  6. 06

Everyone uses the ESCAPE POD together

Once Coratanni and Pearl are down, have players revive anyone possible, regroup and CLICK THE ESCAPE POD at the FRONT-RIGHT CORNER. It takes the raid to the separate RUUGAR fight.

  7. 07

Phase 2: RUUGAR on new terrain

Fight RUUGAR after leaving the ship. Watch explosives and the timed battlefield mechanics described in the linked source; coordinate tank control and avoid scattered target focus.

  8. 08

Finish the one-time RUUGAR'S REVENGE objective

After Ruugar dies, confirm your active Operation and Ruugar's Revenge mission progresses; check final NPC/mission contact as instructed rather than assuming the loot alone turned in the original entry quest.

Story Mode: Story: Coratanni before Pearl, fire suppression blue circles and a coordinated escape pod trip.

Veteran Mode: Veteran: watch increased deck danger, Pearl's damage and Ruugar's timed final mechanics; always ensure both phases register.

Stuck here? Coratanni fight resets on ESCAPE POD? A 2024 Reddit discussion reports pets still occasionally trigger this despite a supposed fix. Dismiss pets and any vendor summon, then reload the phase if it persists.

REDDIT, SWTOR FORUMS & PUBLISHED GUIDES

Common raid problems and how players solved them

Player reports are not guaranteed fixes for every game version. These answers link to their source so readers can check the original context.

Is The Ravagers part of the Battle of Rishi Flashpoint?

NO. BATTLE OF RISHI is a Flashpoint in Shadow of Revan. THE RAVAGERS is an eight-player Operation entered from RISHI SLUMS DISTRICT. Treat its Ruugar story as an optional raid narrative.

Original discussion or mechanic reference ↗

Where is the entry quest Ruugar's Revenge?

A SWTOR Spy codex comment identifies a CLICKABLE BOX RIGHT NEXT TO THE RAVAGERS ENTRANCE, in the MIDDLE OF RISHI'S SLUMS DISTRICT. Click it before going in if the quest is available.

Original discussion or mechanic reference ↗

Sparky keeps throwing the tank across the room?

Sparky alternates SHOULDER THROW and BODY SLAM. Tank near a wall, turn appropriately, and the creature will not run all over the arena after each punt.

Original discussion or mechanic reference ↗

Bulo is one-shotting my DPS group?

SCATTER BLASTER hits the two HIGHEST THREAT players in large cones. Two tanks hold that threat and face away; Vengeance DPS uses threat drop and stands behind the boss.

Original discussion or mechanic reference ↗

How do I fix TORQUE'S BROKEN CONSOLES?

In TORQUE'S ROOM, RIGHT-CLICK A PANEL AT THE BACK to summon a FIX-IT DROID. Keep it alive, kill SHOOTS LASERS, and watch for its repair action. Accidental raid AoE can destroy it.

Original discussion or mechanic reference ↗

Why are blue probe circles wiping Master and Blaster?

RESONANT EXPLOSIVE PROBES detonate early when blue-circle players overlap. Spread when marked, avoid the orange Thermite circles, and plan defenses for OVERPOWERED ION CUTTER.

Original discussion or mechanic reference ↗

Should we kill Coratanni or her bird Pearl first?

CORATANNI FIRST. If PEARL is killed first, Coratanni can become invulnerable. It is common to lower Pearl before finishing Coratanni so its enraged period is short.

Original discussion or mechanic reference ↗

The final phase resets when someone uses the escape pod. How do we fix it?

A 2024 Reddit discussion documents intermittent CORATANNI → RUUGAR resets when pets were summoned. Dismiss pets and temporary summoned vendors before the fight as a low-cost precaution; if it still breaks, reform/reload the instance. The fix is player-reported, not guaranteed.

Original discussion or mechanic reference ↗

Does the Ruugar's Revenge story have to be completed for Shadow of Revan?

No. SWTOR forum chronological ordering treats THE RAVAGERS as a STANDALONE RAID on Rishi, not a replacement for the purple BATTLE OF RISHI Flashpoint or required main Chapter 5 objective.
